About Us

Black Dirt Farm is owned and operated by Tom Gilbert and Molly Barber, with daughters, Kai and Thea. We are deeply committed to raising food and animals with dignity and respect, and pursuing our work with responsibility and creativity to ensure our operations do not adversely affect this land and the ecological community we are apart of. Our full-cycle farm is managed regeneratively to support its long-term productivity and ecology. By closing the loop, our farm mimics the functions of an ecosystem.

Solidarity Through Service

In support of this wonderful community of ours we provide complimentary compost services to Lakeview Elementary, Four Seasons Early Learning Center, and the towns of Greensboro & Stannard. We offer donations of High Potency Worm Castings to local non-profits.
